CIAG CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT LAB - Read/Print Brochure

The Lab will conduct virtual moral-action scenarios to facilitate assessment of character development interventions. Scenario research will include cadets and the use of virtual reality technology, which can monitor involuntary and unconscious physical reactions. Quantitative and qualitative data can be collected for use in longitudinal studies and assessing the effectiveness of various character interventions. MICHIE STADIUM PRESERVATION PROJECT - Read/Print Brochure | WATCH VIDEO
Michie Stadium has been and remains West Point’s key portal to the public. The project will reconstruct the 160,000-square-foot East Stands, built in 1962, modernizing, upgrading, and improving building systems and operations, including broadcasting, ticketing, lighting, winterization, premium and hospitality seating options, concessions and amenities, and stadium accessibility. As per USMA’s 2035 Plan, the Michie Stadium Preservation Project is pivotal as it will relocate and consolidate Army West Point Athletics offices and administrative functions within a centralized footprint, while freeing up much-needed space in Building 639, Athletics’ current home. The released space will be utilized for the Academy’s broader vision for cadet development programs and initiatives. With the 52,800-square-foot office tower, all of Army West Point Athletics administrative offices will now be housed within the footprint of the Michie Complex (Holleder Center, Kimsey Center, and Randall Hall).

MODERN WAR INSTITUTE - Read/Print Brochure
To address the return to great power competition between the U.S. and potential (near) peer adversaries, the Superintendent established the Modern War Institute in 2015 to improve the military development of cadets at West Point. MWI does so by continuously generating new knowledge about the Study of War, that it then integrates across all USMA Departments and the Army—as well as its Joint, Combined, and Inter-Agency partners. The informed debate and discussion that this new knowledge generates among military and national security professionals, policymakers, and academics prepares the Army, as part of the Joint, Combined, and Inter-Agency team, to win tomorrow, by shaping the West Point and the Army today.

Fully funded by the Margin of Excellence, this facility will provide much needed cadet and faculty interdisciplinary collaboration and conference space. The facility will include a theater and will be home to the Office of Admissions Welcome Center, the first stop for cadet candidates and their families.
